Money Line: -154.00 Seattle (Home)
Result: Loss
Money Line: -154.00 Seattle (Home)
Result: Loss
This is a 6* MID-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the Seattle Mariners.
I think this line is way out of whack, the value is simply too good to turn down here, I like "The King" to outduel his counterpart and have absolutely no problem at all in laying what I feel is a pretty reasonable mid-sized price. Felix Hernandez (14-5, 2.12 ERA) is already 4-0 against the struggling A's this year. This is a big game for both teams, but Seattle is now tied with the Royals for the second wild-card spot and will look to keep the pressure on Oakland which has dropped 12 of its last 15 and totaled just three runs during a current three-game skid. Obviously the A's will be just as hungry as Seattle here, but the lineup has been anemic ever since the Yoenis Cespidis trade, which is bad news today as Hernandez is 6-1 with a very respectable 1.85 ERA in his last eight overall outings vs. the A's. Hernandez comes in with momentum as well, he would give up five hits while striking out eight over six scoreless frames in a 4-1 win over the Astros on Monday. One other player to keep your eyes on today is Robinson Cano who is batting .421 over his last five contests overall and a whopping .444 with two home runs and eight RBIs in seven home contests vs. Oakland. The visitors counter with Sonny Gray (13-8, 3.22 ERA) who has had mixed success vs. Seattle this year, most recently he was shelled for six runs in five innings in a 6-5 home defeat to the M's on September 2nd; note that Gray would then give up three runs over seven frames in a 5-4, 12-inning loss to the White Sox on Monday. This is a great matchup, a great situation and in my opinion, a great price; play on SEATTLE.
