This is a 5* BIG-CHALK CHOKE-OUT on the St. Louis Cardinals.
I think the clear talent discrepancy on the mound absolutely justifies in laying this larger price; this is also a sound situational play as St. Louis looks to avoid dropping a fourth straight. The Cards would take Game 1 of a four game match vs. the Reds, but then lose the next three; this is a series that the Cardinals can not take lightly, they need to jump on the Rockies early and take advantage of the favorable matchup. It's also the first contest of a nine-game home stand; note that the Cards have won five straight at Busch Stadium. A date vs. the Rockies is just what the doctor ordered to get untracked as well as St. Louis has won 19 of 27 vs. Colorado. The home side turns to Adam Wainwright (17-9, 2.62 ERA) who has dominated the Rockies throughout his career, going 6-1 with a tiny 1.50 ERA, which includes having won the last four straight. Wainwright comes in with plenty of momentum as well, he's won back-to-back starts and just threw his fourth complete game of the year in his last outing, giving up one run in a 9-1 victory at Milwaukee on Sunday. The visitors counter with Jorge De La Rosa (13-10, 4.27 ERA) who has dropped his last four starts away from home, posting a poor 5.32 ERA in the process; note that Colorado has been a disaster at the plate of late, it's dropped three straight including back-to-back shutouts. What more can I say or point out? In my opinion, this line should be a lot larger. Sometimes a favorite is a favorite for a reason; play on ST. LOUIS!
