Result: Win
This is a 10* SITUATIONAL DESTRUCTION on the Cincinnati Reds.
The Reds will look to make it three in a row today, I think we're getting fanastic line value in this spot. The Cards would win Game 1 of this four game set 5-0 before dropping the next two including yesterday's 4-2 setback. The home side turns to Johnny Cueto (17-8, 2.23 ERA) who enters this contest with considerable momentum, he's coming off back-to-back victories after allowing one run over seven frames in his team's 2-1 victory over the Mets on Saturday. Cueto will certainly be motivated here, he hasn't beaten St. Louis since May 2011, going 0-3, but there's no question that he's pitched well enough to in posting a very respectable 3.48 ERA over that seven-start stretch in the series. The slumping visitors send Lance Lynn (15-8, 2.80 ERA) to the hill; Lynn would give up three runs over six frames in a 5-3 victory over the Brewers on Saturday. The Reds lineup will be eager to finally break through against Lynn, despite posting a pedestrian 4.00 ERA vs. them this season, he's gone 3-0. I like Cueto in this matchup, Lynn comes in a bit shaky, I think the home side has woken up at the plate, when the smoke does finally clear at the end of this one I look for the REDS to find a way to get the job done.
