This is an 8* ASSASSIN on the Tampa Bay Rays.
Toronto has taken the first two games of this series, but I think comes up short here and look for the home side to find a way to get the job done at the end of the night. While they're still in the thick of the playoff hunt, note that the Jays have to be happy with their performance so far in Tampa, they secured their first series win there in over seven years after yesterday's 7-4 victory; I think this sets up as a minor letdown spot for Toronto. The Jays send Mark Buehrle (11-9, 3.50 ERA) who has looked shaky during the second half of the season, most recently he was shelled for four runs over six frames in a 6-3 loss to the Yanks on Friday; note that Buehrle holds a ballooned 6.20 ERA over his last eight starts overall. The Rays will definitely be eager to break out of their slump, they've atypically lost eight of their last 11 in front of the home town crowd. The home side turns to Jake Odorizzi (10-11, 4.03 ERA) to stop the slide; Odorizzi gave up one hit and three walks while striking out seven over seven innings in a 7-0 win over the Red Sox on Saturday. I think Odorizzi gets the slight nod on the bump in this matchup, while Tampa gets a big nod in the motivation department, those two cruical factors are definitely working for us and make the RAYS fantastic value in this spot.
