Both these young teams are 1-0 as they head into this important early-season Mountain West Conference contest. SJSU is off the 42-24 home win over Sacramento State as a 2.5-point favorite, but now hitting the road for the first time, we're expecting the Spartans to stumble. The last time these teams played Air Force scored the 45-20 road win last season in September as a 6.5-point favorite, and we're expecting a similar final outcome here as well. SJSU finished 7-6 overall last year. Spartans' QB Emmett Brown had three TD's last week, but we can't see him moving the ball nearly as effectively on the road this week. SJSU also gave up 177 yards on the ground to a weak Sacramento State side, which doesn't bode well facing the run-heavy Falcons. Even with Navy's former coach now calling the shots, its hard to prepare for the Falcons.s Air Force finished 9-4 last year and No. 2 in the nation in rushing. The Falcons allowed just 210 yards of total offense last week. They are projected to finish near the top of the conference and SJ state near the bottom. With the pointspread much lower than it opened with, we think the Falcons are definitely the correct call here in Week 2.
