The A's won't be lacking motivation here after dropping 2 of 3 at home to Houston over the weekend. The Rangers have lost 7 of 10, but they went 2-1 at home vs. the Twins this weekend, despite falling 6-5 in yesterday's series finale. In a contest here on Monday night though that I see being decided late, or even in extras, I'm going to grab the hungry visiting side on the "runline" option. Neither starter has been great, but I'm giving the slight nod to the A's Adrian Martinez, who is 2-1 with a 6.00 ERA. He'll be opposed by Spencer Howard, who is 0-1 with a 10.97 ERA. Howard returns from a stint in the minors. In his last big league start at the beginning of June he allowed 4 runs over 4 innings to the Orioles. Martinez last threw on July 5th and earned a solid win over the Blue Jays. For all the reasons listed above, consider Oakland on the "runline."
