This is an 8* on OVER

Yesterday may have been low-scoring, but that simply hasn’t been the case for most Reds’ home games this season. The average number of total runs scored per game at Great American Ballpark in 2021 is 10.6. That’s tied with Coors Field for the highest average in the majors. Last we checked, the air isn’t all that thin in Cincinnati. The Reds’ last six games have all stayed Under. Four of those games have seen them score just one time. But other than Monday, all those games were on the road. The Reds average 5.5 runs/game here in their home park. We think today is the day they “bust loose.” The last time Miles Mikolas started for St. Louis, the final score ended up being 11-7 and that was versus a Pirates team that has scored fewer runs than everyone else in baseball. Sonny Gray has turned in two straight good outings for the Reds. But the last time he faced the Cardinals, he surrendered eight runs in 3.3 innings. That was here at home. We don’t have much faith in either starter Tuesday and Reds’ home games are traditionally high scoring. So we will play accordingly. Play on OVER
