Something is going to have to give here as the Rockies are 14-45 on the road, but the Cubs have lost a franchise record 13 straight home games. In spite of the poor road record, we’re citing Colorado as they at least have some positive momentum coming off a 5-1 homestand. They did lose Sunday to Arizona, but that was after five straight wins with five or more runs scored every time out. The Cubs are 3-16 overall in August and were just swept by the Royals. The mass exodus of talent at the trade deadline has turned them into one of the worst teams in the league. Kyle Hendricks has been their saving grace this year. But it seems as if Hendricks should feel fortunate to be tied for the MLB lead in wins. He has a 4.04 ERA and 1.33 WHIP. The last time he pitched at Wrigley, Hendricks gave up nine runs and lasted just four innings. There have been five games this year where Hendricks has surrendered at least five runs. Four of those were at home. Senzatela hasn’t won on the road this year, but he is coming off two straight quality outings. The Rockies are on a 27-14 run against teams with losing records.
