The Yankees were rained out yesterday, so they were unable to attempt to earn a split in their series with the Angels. The Mets lost 4-3 to the Braves - despite having Jacob deGrom pitching - and that was their fourth loss in the last five games. None were more humiliating than the 20-2 defeat they suffered (also at the hands of Atlanta) Wednesday night. Of course, the Yankees aren’t doing much better right now as they have lost five of their last six. Something else that these teams have in common (besides losing) is they don’t score many runs. The Yankees are second to last in the American League in runs scored and the Mets are dead last in the National League when it comes to number of times crossing the plate. Over their last 21 games, the Mets have scored more than four runs just four times. Don’t look for the DH to change things today. The Yankees will send out Jordan Montgomery, who has a 2.061 ERA and 0.94 WHIP at home. The Mets also happen to have given up the fewest number of runs in all of baseball and they go with Taijuan Walker tonight. Walker has seen the Under hit in three consecutive starts, which have averaged just 5.0 runs/game. With an average of just 7.2 total runs/game, Mets’ games are - on average - the lowest scoring of any team. Play on UNDER
