For a while, it looked like it would be the Cubs and Cardinals competing for NL Central supremacy this year. But now it’s the Brewers that the Cubs are tied with atop the division. They look to take advantage of the slumping Cards again on Saturday with Kyle Hendricks starting the game. St. Louis has just one win in its previous eight games. It was 8-5 Cubs on Friday afternoon as Pederson, Rizzo and Contreras all homered. It was the Cubs third straight win after taking two in San Diego. This is the first series where a full house is allowed at Wrigley Field. "It just felt really energetic," manager David Ross said about yesterday’s game. "The outfield was packed, beautiful day. That was a nice W. ... Clearly, those fans helped us win that game." Hendricks looks to help make it two in a row over the Cardinals and four in a row overall. The last time Hendricks started against St. Louis was 5/21 at Busch Stadium and the Cubs wound up winning 12-3. Hendricks is 5-0 his last five starts, all of them quality.
