The Dodgers and Pirates opened up a three-game series on Tuesday. As you’d expect, the Dodgers won. They got all five of their runs in the fifth and sixth innings while the Pirates got all three of their runs in the eighth and ninth. The home team should have had one more, but Ke’Bryan Hayes made a baserunning blunder in the first inning when he forgot to touch first base after a home run. So he was called out. While it may not have been the prettiest win for the Dodgers on Tuesday, you can’t deny who the better team is in this particular matchup. We think it’s pretty crazy we can get to play the favorite at this price. Pittsburgh is 2-10 this season as a home underdog of +125 to +175. Maybe the price is due to some uncertainty over Tony Gonsolin, who will be making his 2021 debut for the Dodgers in this one? But we have confidence in Gonsolin starting in this spot. He was 6-4 with a 2.60 ERA in 20 starts last year, his rookie season. The Pirates have the least amount of runs scored in baseball.
