Toronto will send the unbeaten Steven Matz out to the mound Wednesday in the hopes of pulling off a quick two game sweep of Washington. Matz is 4-0 with a 2.31 ERA and 0.94 WHIP. As a former member of the Mets, he has not had much success in the past against the Nationals. But he’s with a new team now and the Nats just aren’t very good anymore. They’ve been outscored by 28 runs in 20 games. That’s the worst run differential in the National League and second worst (Detroit) in all of baseball. Vladimir Guerrero’s grand slam was the difference in yesterday’s 9-5 Blue Jays victory. Considering they beat Max Scherzer, beating Erick Fedde should not be all that hard. Fedde has yet to go more than five innings this year. Toronto is averaging 6.1 runs per game at home. Play on TORONTO
