Second meeting in three days between these teams. The Flyers won the first, by a score of 5-4, back on Monday. That win stretched their advantage over the Rangers to five points in the East Division. Philly needed the win after losing two games to Washington. The Rangers have just one win in their last five after a three-game win streak at the start of March. Those three wins were all against the bottom two in the division, however. Monday’s game did go to overtime, but only after the Flyers squandered an early two-goal advantage. Outside of a seven minute stretch where they found the back of the net three times, NY didn’t play very well. They were without defenseman Adam Fox and right winger Pavel Buchnevich and both remain on the COVID list. That’s a problem considering Fox leads the team in ice time while Buchnevich is tied for the team-high in points with 22. Philly is on a 40-15 run in games where they are favored.
