Coastal Carolina has had a truly magical season. Picked to finish last in the Sun Belt, the Chanticleers have shocked the College Football world by going 11-0 and are one win away from a perfect regular season. Here in the Sun Belt Championship Game, the opponent is Louisiana, a team they’ve already beaten this year on the road. It was 30-27 Chanticleers, who were 9-point underdogs. They are now favorites for the rematch, but it’s now clear they were undervalued this first time around and this game is being played in Conway. The loss to Coastal Carolina is the only blemish on Louisiana’s resume, so you know they’ll be out for revenge. However, our view is that the favorite is simply better in all areas and thus it’s an easy decision to lay a tiny number at home. Last week’s narrow escape against Troy was only the second time all year that the Chants failed to cover. The other was a game vs. a FCS team where they were laying 26 points.
