You would hope that a battle between the top two College Basketball teams in America would not get “lost” amidst another busy College FOOTBALL Saturday. However, in our estimation, #2 Baylor will probably just as soon hope not many are paying attention. That’s because the top-ranked Zags are our call Saturday afternoon. Gonzaga has beaten Kansas, Auburn and West Virginia to get to 3-0 on the year. All those wins were at a neutral site. They had to rally to beat WVU, but that was their second win already over a top 15 team. Baylor has wins over Louisiana, Washington and Illinois, also all at neutral sites. Illinois was obviously an impressive win, but there’s a reason the Bears are underdogs here. Gonzaga has won all five previous meetings and in a game that’s expected to be close, Baylor’s poor free throw shooting will be an issue. The fact Gonzaga still scored 87 against WVU ought to be considered frightening. The Zags are 52-2 after scoring 80 or more points in their last game. Play on GONZAGA
