Fresno State and Pacific both enter this game at 1-0. Fresno State had little difficulty dispatching William Jessup, a non-board team, winning the opener by a score of 87-47. Pacific downed UC Riverside in a more competitive game, 66-60, where they were six-point favorites. These two California schools met as recently as two years ago with FSU coming out ahead 81-78, but Pacific getting the cash as 9.5-point underdogs. This time Pacific is the favorite and we think they’ll get the cash again. The Tigers are coming off their first 20+ win season in a decade and have been trending up the last few seasons. Note that they led UC Riverside by as much as 17 points Wednesday, before some awful free throw shooting (11 of 24) allowed the Highlanders to get back in the game. Pacific boasts more experience than Fresno State in this matchup as the latter starts four sophomores. Turnovers were a problem for FSU last season and that continued in the opener with 16 of them. Their shooting against a non-Division I opponent should not be taken seriously as they had a 40.4 FG% away from home last season. Play on PACIFIC
