Tampa Bay is going for the sweep today, which would be the exact opposite result of the last series with Baltimore. This month began with the Orioles sweeping a three-game series with the Rays at Camden Yards. Since that time, the teams have gone in dramatically different directions. The Rays have won 15 of their last 18 games while the O’s are just 2-8 their L10. Baltimore has yet to win a start made by John Means, going 0-4, which isn’t a surprise seeing as his ERA is 10.12. In the last nine games, Baltimore has been held to three runs or less five different times. They are 17-35 the last 52 times they have lost the first two games of a series. They are 34-72 their L106 in Game 3 of a series, no matter the result of the first two games. Tampa Bay has won five straight times in Game 3 of a series.
