Arizona is facing the possibility of being swept at home in a four-game series, which would be quite the embarrassment considering the opponent (Colorado) was on a 7-game losing streak when it came to town Monday. What we’ve seen here is three straight one-run victories by the Rockies - 3-2, 5-4 and 8-7. The last two games have ended with Arizona striking out with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth. So this series could have looked MUCH different coming into today’s finale. We look for the home team to avoid the sweep behind Gallen, who has pitched far too well not to have a victory in any of his six starts. For the record, he has zero decisions either way despite a 2.25 ERA and 1.06 WHIP. He’s coming off five consecutive quality starts, one of which came at Coors Field. The Rockies’ Kyle Freeland started against him that day and will oppose him again tonight. Freeland is on a pretty nice run himself, but Arizona has won five straight against pitchers with a WHIP of 1.15 or better. Play on ARIZONA
