The Dodgers and Giants played 19 games against each other in 2019. That’s quite typical for a division rivalry. But there’s nothing typical about this 2020 season. It’ll be a 60-game sprint to the playoffs. But the two long-time West Coast rivals will still meet 10 times. Something else we found odd regarding last year’s season series was that there were six shutouts, four of them coming in the final five meetings. Not surprising is that the Giants were the club getting blanked five of those six times. Here on Opening Night we expect these two NL West sides to combine for more runs than expected. A starting pitching matchup of Cueto vs. Kershaw has kept the total low. However, 7 of Cueto’s final 8 starts last season went Over the total. Cueto’s previous five starts against LA have gone Over and two of them were opposite Kershaw. Speaking of Kershaw, the Over was 18-11 in all of his 2019 starts. The Dodgers were also a top five team in runs scored a season ago. 10* on OVER
