It is an incredibly jam-packed race for the two Wild Card spots in the NHL's Eastern Conference. Remember that the top three in each division automatically qualify for the playoffs. Right now Toronto occupies third in the Atlantic, but they are just two points up on Florida. Carolina has the same number of points as Toronto (72) but is actually sixth in the Metropolitan, meaning they would not be in the playoffs if they started today. What the Hurricanes are in is the second night of a back to back. They lost at home to the Rangers last night, 5-2, as they continue to struggle to find consistency post-All Star Break. Toronto is off a shutout win over Pittsburgh, 4-0, right here at home on Thursday. These teams played one of the wildest games of the year back in December with the Maple Leafs prevailing 8-6. That was also here in Toronto. The Leafs are better situated to grab the two points tonight seeing as they are rested and 15-8 straight up when off a win by two goals or more. Play on TORONTO
