The Pirates certainly haven't had much luck beating the Cardinals this year. That's just one of several reasons why they are in last place in the NL Central and the Cardinals are in first. They are 4-12 vs. St. Louis and most of these losses have occurred during the second half. Going back to mid-July, they've lost eight straight times to them. They are 0-6 at home against St. Louis this year. But tonight, I feel it could be different as despite what's happened at PNC Park so far, the Cardinals aren't as strong on the road. They have a losing record away from Busch Stadium and have been outscored. Miles Mikolas, who has been great for them recently, still has a 6.11 ERA and 1.458 WHIP on the road where he's gone just 3-8. So, in other words, it's a great time to step in and take the +1.5 with Pittsburgh on the run line. Joe Musgrove is coming off back to back quality efforts, the last one resulting in a win at Colorado. The Pirates swept that series before returning home where they promptly dropped two of three to the Marlins. They'll be ready to go tonight, however. It's key that Musgrove goes 6+ innings as Pittsburgh is 12-5 when he does. Play PITTSBURGH +1.5
