This is a great price to grab an extra 1.5 runs against the Cubs, who have proven to be not very good on the road. They could only manage a split with the feisty Reds over the weekend and were actually outscored over the four games. They're only 23-35 for the year on the road and have a losing record (5-6) as a favorite of -125 to -175. As for the Phillies, they are badly in need of a victory after dropping five of their last six. This slide has them down in fourth place in their own division, but they're still only two back of the Wild Card. They'll be going up against Jose Quintana tonight and he has a 5.29 ERA in three previous starts in Philadelphia. His ERA (surprise, surprise) is higher on the road than it is at home. Jason Vargas will be making his third start for the Phillies since being traded from the Mets and he is 3-0 lifetime vs. the Cubs. The Cubs have not won any of their last 11 road series, by the way.
