Look at the NL West standings and you'll find these teams one game apart (Rockies ahead). That one game difference came about due to last night's 8-1 win by Colorado. But before that, the Rockies had only outscored their opponents this year by all of 12 runs. Arizona had a +58 run differential, which was actually third best in all of the National League. So one could argue here that the Diamonbacks have played better than the Rockies. That and having Greinke starting has us on the home team tonight. Through six innings, Greinke had faced the minimum number of hitters in his last start. He hasn't allowed any runs in his last two starts (13 1/3 innings total) and the team has won each of the last three times he's started. Greinke has a 0.88 WHIP on the year, which is third best overall, trailing only Verlander and Ryu. Greinke looks like an obvious difference maker tonight as Colorado starter Jon Gray, who has poor career numbers vs. Arizona (5.15 ERA in eight starts) and his days as a starter appear numbered.
