Clayton Kershaw is on the mound tonight for the Dodgers and even by the lofty standard he's set, the team is having almost unheard of success when he pitches. Kershaw brings a 16-0 team start record his last 16 starts into this one, including 8-0 this year. But despite being undefeated, Kershaw hasn't been that dominant. This season's ERA (3.42) is more than a full point higher than his career ERA. He's allowed at least three runs in four of his last five starts and is facing the only National League team he has a losing record against (3-5 all-time vs. the Phillies). Not that it matters much. The Dodgers offense is raking, averaging 6.7 runs the last seven games and 5.7 for the year at home. The Phillies have chosen to go with Irvin rather than Eflin and it's not like that matters.
