The sport's most famous rivalry will be renewed this weekend with a four-game set at Yankee Stadium. New York won both previous meetings with Boston, but that was back in April when the Red Sox were not playing well. It's a different story now as they are 16-10 in May despite a couple of surprising losses to Cleveland the last two days. The Yankees have obviously played well too; that's why the Red Sox are looking up at them in the standings. But we think the difference maker Thursday will be Chris Sale. Sale's recent efforts embody the total team turnaround. Yes, he still has won just one decision all year. But in his last five starts, Sale has 56 strikeouts in 31 1/3 innings. A couple of unearned runs cost him against Houston in the most recent start, but before that he'd gone six in a row without giving up more than two earned runs. New York's J.A.
