This is an 8* SUPER-BLOWOUT on the UNDER Capitals/Flames.
We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. This particular play is based primarily on strong/relevant O/U ATS stats and common sense:
As note that Washington has seen the total go UNDER the number in ten of its last 14 road games when the total in the contest is set at six or higher, while Calgary has seen the total go UNDER the number in three of four already this year after allowing four goals or more in its previous contest.
The bottom line: Both teams enter off terrible losses, as Washington fell 4-1 at Edmonton, while at the same time the Flames lost 9-1 to Pittsburgh. With each side looking to atone for a sloppy defensive performance last time out and taking into account the above listed O/U trends, the UNDER is the savvy move in our opinion.
