This is a 10* TOTAL OF THE WEEK on the UNDER between BC and Wake Forest.
Both teams are 2-0, blowing out their weak non-conference opponents. Each team features a balanced offensive attack and both have above-average defensive units. We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. BONUS NFL THURSDAY NIGHT 7-POINT TEASER: This is a 10* 7-POINT TEASER on the Bengals from +1 to +8 and the total from 44 to 51 (playing the under) offered at 5Dimes.
Both teams come in off high-scoring Week 1 victories. In a situation like that we'd already tend to lean to the UNDER, but with an added 7 points to the total, we absolutely love this one to indeed stay below the posted number. It's a short week and each offense will be tired. For the most part each defense looked pretty good in Week 1 as well. So as far as the total is concerned, we think adding 7 points to the UNDER is the way to go in this one.
The Ravens looked fantastic offensively against the impotent Bills, but they'll be in for a much bigger fight on the road in this difficult venue. The Bengals struggled in the first half in their Week 1 contest on both sides of the ball, but then exploded both offensively and defensively in the second half. Andy Dalton and Cincinnati's offense though has had a hell of a time against Baltimore's elite defense, but we think the home side keeps it interesting. With an added 7 points to the spread, we think the BENGALS are the correct call here.
FINAL ANALYSIS: Add 7 points to Bengals spread and 7 points to the UNDER.
