We like the home side to build off yesterday's dominating victory. The visitors hand the ball to the erratic Jeff Samardzija (1-2, 6.62 ERA) who gave up five runs off four hits and three walks over four innings in a loss to Philadelphia on Monday. Samardzija comes in struggling, having allowed five or more runs in two of his last three. The Pirates counter with Chad Kuhl (4-2, 4.12) who comes in off a dominant effort against the Brewers on Sudnay, allowing no runs over seven innings with one hit and two walks while also posting eight K's. For the most part Kuhl has been solid overall this season and note that he's routinely been at his best in this spot by going 2-0 with a 3.18 ERA at home thus far. For all the reasons listed above, play on the PIRATES.
