After yesterday's embarrassing 11-0 defeat to the Braves, we like the home side to find a way to get the job done at the end of the night here. The visitors hand the ball to German Marquez (1-3, 5.14 ERA) who gave up three runs off six hits and three walks over six innings in a loss to the Marlins on Saturday. Marquez's ERA and 1.58 WHIP suggest that the hard-throwing right-hander will continue to struggle on the road this evening. The home side counters with Zack Wheeler (2-1, 4.09) who also comes in off an outing to forget, giving up four runs off six hits while striking out three over four innings in a no-decision against the Cardinals on Tuesday. It was a bit of a step back after posting two straight quality starts to open the year, but we're not going to over-react to that. Note that Colorado is just 43-55 (-12.5 units) the last two years on the road when the money line is between +125 and -125, while New York is 7-2 in its last nine after getting shutout in its previous outing. We like Wheeler to get the better of his struggling counterpart and for the METS to answer after yesterday's horrible effort. Lay the price.
