We played against the Giants in their afternoon game yesterday against the Dodgers, but we feel that this is a much bigger pitching mismatch than what Las Vegas wants us to think. The visitors hand the ball to Eric Lauer (0-1, 18.00 ERA) who gave up seven runs off six hits in a loss to Colorado on Tuesday. It was his major league debut and things aren't going to get any easier in San Francisco tonight. The home side counters with Jeff Samardzija (1-1, 6.23) who enters off an outing to forget against Washington, giving up six runs off eight hits over 3.2 innings. Samardzija looked sharp in his first start of the year, but he ran into a buzz saw in the Nationals' high-powered line-up. Note though that San Francisco is 9-7 (+5.2 units) this year against southpaws, while SD is just 5-12 (-4.3 units) against right-handed starters. This line could/should easily be a lot larger.
