Ultimately we feel that this line could/should be a lot larger considering the talent discrepancy on the mound. The visitors hand the ball to Brandon McCarthy (3-0, 2.91) who gave up one run off five hits and two walks with six K's over 5.1 innings in a victory over Philadelphia on Wednesday. The home side counters with the erratic Tyler Mahle (1-3, 5.14) who gave up two runs off seven hits and four walks over five innings in a loss to Milwaukee on Wednesday. Mahle has been better at home than on the road, but note that the Reds have given him very little support. We're banking on McCarthy continuing his hot start to the season and for the BRAVES to give him more than enough support for the victory against the volatile Mahle. Play on Atlanta.
