San Diego looks for the sweep here at home over Cleveland, winning the first game 6-3 and yesterday's contest 5-0. The Guardians look primed for another letdown here as they get caught looking ahead to another tough series starting in Arizona tomorrow night. Logan Allen is 3-2 with a 3.31 ERA for Cleveland, while Ryan Weathers is 1-4 with a 4.93 ERA for the Padres. Weathers is coming off a strong start finally against the Rockies and we think he now carries that momentum over here. The opposite is true of Allen though, after a solid start to the year, he's coming off his worst start to date, allowing five runs off nine hits over six innings in a fortunate no-decision to the Astros on Friday. We think San Diego is worth a "second look" here on Thursday night!
