AAA's VERY EARLY NON-CONF SUPER TOTAL!
(NHL) Minnesota vs. NY Islanders,
Total: 6.00 | -110.00 Under
Result: Win
This is an 8* SUPER TOTAL on the OVER between the Minnesota Wild and the New York Islanders.

We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. Sometimes we keep it simple, while other times we'll take into account numerous different factors, like motivation, scheduling and significant injuries. Recognizing classic "spot bets" is something we always do as well, IE: the "look ahead" spot, the "let down" spot and the "trap" game. One set of criteria which we always use when making our decisions are Against The Spread (ATS) statistics.

This particular play is based primarily on strong/relevant O/U ATS statistics and common sense:

As note that Minnesota has seen the total go OVER the number in five of eight road games already this year when the total is set at 6 or higher and in 15 of 25 non-conference games, while New York has seen the total go OVER the number in 10 of 13 this season when playing with two days rest and in 15 of 24 against teams with winning records.

The bottom line: The Isles come in having won two straight. New York is one of the highest scoring teams in the league and one of the worst on the defensive side. The Wild have been great at home, but they've been much more susceptible on the road (especially defensively.) When you add it all up, all signs point to a wide-open, high-scoring shootout. Play the OVER.
