This is a 10* NON-CONFERENCE TOTAL OF THE MONTH on the UNDER between the LA Kings and the Pittsburgh Penguins.
We don't subscribe to any single handicapping methodology, but instead feel that being flexible with ones approach is the best way to secure profits over the longterm. This particular play is based primarily on strong/relevant O/U ATS statistics and common sense:
As note that LA has seen the total go UNDER the number in seven of 11 already this year after a loss by two goals or more in its previous outing (the Kings come in off back-to-back road losses, looking terrible in a 4-3 defeat in Tampa, before then being humbled 7-3 at Carolina. And with tough upcoming road contests at Buffalo, Chicago and Winnipeg, it's not going to get any easier on LA any time soon), while Pittsburgh has seen the total go UNDER the number in five of its last six non-conference contests.
The bottom line: Pittsburgh has won three of its last four, including a 6-3 drubbing of the struggling Senators last time out. But LA presents a much more difficult task and with the visitors putting an added emphasis onto the defensive end of the ice tonight after their recent shoddy play in that department, all signs do indeed point to a very defensive affair this evening.
