Here are two teams that are playing well. Two evenly matched starting pitchers. Honestly, it wouldn't be difficult to write a convincing argument for either of these sides to win this series opener here in the Pacific Northwest. But, Seattle at home at this price is the correct call in our opinion. Bryce Miller is 3-1 with a 1.15 ERA for the Mariners, while Domingo German is 2-3 with a 3.75 ERA for the Yanks (note though that Miller is the first pitcher to last a minimum of six frames, while yielding no more than four hits over his very first five MLB appearances since at least 1901.) German has had success vs. Seattle in the past, but that was then and this is now. At this price, we feel the Mariners are indeed worthy of a second look on Monday night!
