This is an 8* play on Nebraska.
While we obviously wouldn't be shocked by an outright upset, we will in the end recommend grabbing as many points as you can as we expect the home side to take this one down to the wire. The Cornhuskers are 5-6 and need that final victory to become bowl eligible. While this clearly won't be a cake-walk, we think Nebraska can pull off the upset today. Iowa is already a part of the Big Ten Championship game and won't be rolling over obviously, if the Hawkeyes win that contest, they'll have a legitimate shot at a College Football Playoff berth. Nebraska QB Tommy Armstrong for the most part has been as solid as the Huskers could possibly ask for and he's been the beneficiary of a run unit which has found a recipe for success over the last month. Iowa's strength on offense is in its run game as the unit averages 212 yards per outing, but many would point out that those numbers were trumped up because of a weaker schedule. Hawkeyes' QB CJ Beathard has been efficient, but the arial assault hasn't lit up the World this year. Home field advantage can't be overlooked today either, the crowd would play a part in helping to rattle the Spartans in the upset win. Note that Iowa is just 6-9 ATS in its last 15 off a win vs. a conference rival, while Nebraska is 4-2 ATS in its last six following its bye week and 9-3 ATS in its last 12 when playing the role of underdog. Play on the CORNHUSKERS.
