When the smoke clears at the end of this one, we look for this total to eclipse the posted number. Houston will be playing with desperation today as it looks to break a four-game slide, including three-straight in front of the home town crowd. Most recently the Rockets lost 110-98 to the Celtics. Portland could obviously care less about Houston's issues though, after a decent start to the season, the Blazers have now lost six-straight themselves, most recently a listless 93-80 setback in San Antonio on Monday. This is a great situational play in our professional opinion, as these two hungry teams will be pushing the pace of this one from the outset and a faster paced game = more shots and more shots = more points. And from an Over/Under trend based stand point, they don't get much better than this as Portland has seen the total go OVER the number in three of four this year vs. poor defensive teams which allow 99-plus points per contest, while Houston has seen the total sail above the posted number in in four of seven in the same position this season. Play on the OVER.
