This is a 10* BK on the Yanks.
New York won the opener by a score 6-1, then Tampa bounced back in yesterday's 9-1 blowout.
Now I look for NY to respond here, as I believe this line could/should in fact be a lot larger.
The Yanks are 4-1 in their last five in trying to avenge a home loss as a favorite vs. an opponent.
NY also clearly has the superior starter backing it in this matchup, with Shane Baz (0-1, 5.23 ERA) getting the call for the visitors out of necessity. In his most recent outing he allowed three runs over four innings in a no-decision to these very Yanks.
With Jeffrey Springs set to return soon, Baz's time in the starting rotation has almost come to an end.
The home side counters with the steady Marcus Stroman (7-4, 3.51), who was saddled with a no-decision as well vs. the Rays in his last start, allowing one run over five innings.
Stroman looked shaky over the final few weeks of the first half, so the break really could not have come at a better time for the veteran. I say he comes out sharp here in the second half and believe he's the correct call in this matchup.
Lay the price with confidence, the play is NEW YORK.
Good luck, NP
