This is an 8* TOP TOTAL on the UNDER Miami Florida/Oklahoma State.
There are a lot of sports going on right now. Sports handicappers aren't ESPN sports broadcasters with a team of writers behind them all focusing on a single sport.
As a lone sports handicapper, I have to keep track of every team, every sport and every player by myself. Which in my humble opinion, is clearly impossible. No one can keep up on every single change in every sport, and those that are pretending they can, are lying.
So as primarily a "situational" capper, these are exactly the types of contests that I keep my eyes open for.
Miami Florida is 3-1, but it's coming off an 80-69 loss to Drake in a neutral-court game.
Oklahoma State is 3-1 as well, and it's also coming off its first loss of the year, an 86-78 loss to FAU on a neutral court.
Each has seen the total go OVER in three of four this year as well. But here's the thing, dating to last year note that the Cowboys have seen the total go UNDER the number in five of their last seven off a SU/ATS road loss, while Miami Florida has seen the total go UNDER in eight of its last 12 off a SU/ATS road loss as a favorite.
Neither team has done well against the spread, so I'm steering clear of trying to choose a side here. But the overall situation that each finds itself in coming into this contest, combined with the above-listed numbers/trends do indeed all point to a much more defensive battle than what the oddsmakers are trying to lead us to believe in my opinion.
The play is the UNDER.
Good luck, NP
