This is a 10* EAST-CONF NON-DIV TOY on the UNDER Flyers/Bruins.

As primarily a situational capper, I love the way this one sets up to be more of a defensive battle. Each team has played to several high-scoring games of late, but I'm expecting a defensive battle here and believe that the value has now firmly "swung the other way" as far as the total is concerned.

Philadelphia is just 2-6 after its most recent 4-3 home loss to the Canadiens on Sunday night. The Flyers have seen the total eclipse the posted number in three straight now, but that's significant to take note of for bettors, as dating to last season the Flyers have seen the total go UNDER the number in seven of their last ten after playing to three or more straight OVERS in a row.

Boston snapped a three-game slide with a 4-3 OT home win over the Leafs. Previous to that though the Bruins scored just three goals in three straight losses combined. Boston is just 4-4 and I expect its offensive inconsistencies to continue.

These teams have difficult upcoming games after this, followed by another game against each other next weekend in Philadelphia.

The last time these teams played, Philadelphia managed the 3-2 home win as a +120 dog back on March 23rd, and everything points to a similar final combined score as well in my opinion.
