Result: Loss
Point Spread: 19.50 | -110.00 Miners (TEP) (Away)
Result: Loss
This is a 10* CONF-USA GOW on UTEP.
I'm of course not suggest whatsoever that UTEP is going to win this one outright, but I do absolutely believe that this spread is way too large, as I'm expecting WKU to take the foot of the gas as it gets ready to travel to 5-1 Sam Houston State the following weekend.
After three straight victories the Hilltoppers came up short two weeks ago in their 21-20 road loss at BC.
It's a classic "letdown/look-ahead" spot in my estimation and when you add those two factors together, you get "trap game."
I think this is a trap game for sure for the home side. UTEP is terrible, 0-5, but it's actually played some really decent competition, including a Nebraska, at Liberty, at Colorado State and at home to Sam Houston State last weekend. They've scored a combined 38 points over their last two games which is decent considering their competition.
As primarily a "situational" capper, these are the types of games that I always have my eyes open for.
Grab the points, the play is UTEP.
Good luck, NP
