SITUATIONAL SLUG-FEST (THIS ONE FLIES WAY OVER!)
(MLB) Red Sox (BOS) vs. Yankees (NYY),
Total: 8.50 | -105.00 Over
Result: Win
Total: 8.50 | -105.00 Over
Result: Win
This is an 8* SLUG-FEST on the OVER Red Sox/Yanks.
Both teams have been involved in some lower-scoring UNDERS of late, including in the Yanks 2-1 extra-innings win last night, but I'm expecting more of a "slug-fest" finally here on Friday.
The Red Sox are battling for a wildcard with just 16 games remaining, while the Yanks are battling the Orioles for No. 1 spot in the AL East.
Boston has seen the total go UNDER in three straight now after yesterday's loss, but that's significant for us to take note of, as the Red Sox have in fact seen the total go OVER the number in four of their last five after playing to three or more straight UNDERs in a row.
The Yanks have seen the total go UNDER in three straight, but that's also an important stat for us to take note of here, as New York has seen the total eclipse the posted number in eight of its last 12 after playing to three or more straight UNDERS in a row.
We have two decent starters in Boston's Tanner Houck and the Yankee's Clarke Scmidt, but in my estimation they're in the "wrong place" at the "wrong time" today, as I expect each to get the hook early as the situation and the numbers/trends all point to this one eclipsing the posted number sooner, rather than later.
The play is the OVER.
Good luck, NP
