This is a 1* FREE PLAY on the UNDER Mariners/Dodgers.
I like Seattle and LA to play to a lower-scoring duel on Wednesday night. Seattle is becoming more and more of a dark horse so to speak, now sitting 6.5 games back of the final Wildcard after back-to-back losses to open this series.
But the Mariners have quality starting pitching that could carry them to an unlikely come-from-behind spot once it's all said and done.
Wednesday's scheduled starter is Logan Gilbert, who is 7-9 with a 2.96 ERA and tiny 0.88 WHIP for the Mariners.
Gilbert is off a loss vs. the Pirates on Friday despite a decent start where he gave up four runs over seven innings and struck out six. He owns a 19-to-3 strike-out-to-walk ratio in August.
But he may very well be the second-best pitcher in this matchup with the Dodgers countering with Joe Flaherty, who is 2-0 with a 2.09 ERA and 1.37 WHIP so far for the Dodgers. Over three starts so far for LA he owns a sharp 24 to 4 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
With these two guys racking up strikeouts and eating up innings like I suspect on Wednesday night, I'm going to recommend a play on the UNDER in this one.
Good luck, NP
