ASA free play on Toronto Raptors +2 vs Philadelphia 76ers, Weds 8 PM ET - The 76ers won the first two games handily by 20 and 15 but we like the Raptors to get a game at home and it’s going to be Game 3. One handicapping method we use is looking for abnormal statistics. So if we look at the regular season, the 76ers were 12th in offensive efficiency averaging 1.135-points per possession. In the two games against the Raptors they have the best overall offensive efficiency numbers at 1.370PPP which is insanely high. We have to expect the 76ers to trend back to the norm here, especially against a Raptors defense that was 10th best in the NBA in defense efficiency allowing 1.106PPP during the regular season. I was encouraged by the Raptors in the 4th quarter of Game 2 when they outscored the Sixers 26-17 after scoring just 38-total points in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. A couple stats stand out in this series which are not sustainable…
1) The 76ers shoot 36.4% from beyond the arc for the season. Toronto held opponents to 35.4% 3-point shooting during the regular season. So far in two games the 76ers have shot 47% and 50% from deep.
2) The 76ers have made 55 of 64 free throws to the Raptors 29 makes in the two games or plus 26 points from the line.
Toronto closed the regular season by winning 14 of their last 18 games, which included a 7-1 SU streak at home. The 76ers were 27-14 SU on the road +2.1PPG. Toronto at home was also 27-14 SU with a +/- of +4.2PPG. And remember the Raptors played most of the entire regular season without a home crowd. In fact…
Since 2016 – Toronto is 171-84 SU at home +6.6PPG BUT if we remove the last three years (bubble, played home games in Miami and this year without fans) they are 108-38 SU or 74%. The Raptors are 19-16 SU off a loss this year +1.1PPG. Toronto 4-2 ATS the last 6 meetings with Philly
