After a sub-3 ERA in his first 14 starts, Sonny Gray has fallen off the cliff over the last month, posting a 6.67 ERA and 1.56 WHIP. In addition, opposing batters have a staggering .928 OPS in those five games. One of those games came in a 5-1 loss to the Cubs when Chicago starter Kyle Hendricks handcuffed the Cards in what was just his second quality start in 12 tries.

For the Cubs, Shota Imanaga has been as good as advertised this season, ranking top-7 in the NL in both ERA and WHIP. The Cubs offense has woken up a bit lately, scoring 7 or more on three of their last five games.
