I believe Nestor Cortes will respond to his poor start in his first outing with a quality start against Cincinnati tomorrow night. The veteran southpaw is facing a Reds lineup that hit .226/.308/.365/.673 versus lefties last season and has continued to struggle against them in 2025 (.167/.200/.417/.617). Cincinnati was held scoreless in its last two games, losing 1-0 in both. That was after a 14-run performance in the first game of the series. I don't believe they will respond with a huge offensive showing tomorrow against the motivated Cortes, a pitcher they haven't faced since 2022. Nick Lodolo has been solid but not spectacular against the Brewers, allowing five homers in four starts with one win and three no-decisions. Milwaukee has hit lefties better than Cincinnati (.245/.325/.387/.713), as well.
