They won the rebounding battle, shot 18-for-21 at the free-throw line, and outscored Marquette in the paint. It was a complete performance — and one the Spartans should be aware of. Michigan State was solid for most of its first-round game against Bryant, simply overwhelming the Bulldogs with their talent and tenacity. They won't be able to coast on that against the Lobos, a stout defensive team coached by the son of an all-time great in Richard Pitino, who has plenty of familiarity with MSU as the former coach of Minnesota.
