MACK'S CFB **FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS!
(NCAAF) Spartans (MSU) vs. Ducks (ORE),
Point Spread: 24.50 | -110.00 Spartans (MSU) (Away)
Result: Win
Michigan State has improved in each game this season and seem to be ahead of schedule in year one under Johnathan Smith. In Week 1 they beat FAU and then went on to beat a good Maryland team. In Week 3 they destroyed an FCS team, and in Week four they played a tough BC program and had a chance to win that game, only losing by 4 points. This team is quietly good and is flying under the radar. They only got blown out by Ohio State, but most teams would, so that is a testament to how good Ohio State is as they are an elite program. Other than that loss, this team is holding their own defensively and their offense is improving each week. Oregon hasn’t really impressed this season. They’ve had one game where they looked like their old selves and that was beating their rival Oregon State in the “Civil War” game, a Beavers team that is not as good as last season's team. Other than that, they let UCLA hang around and they didn’t cover in that game. They barely beat Boise State in a game where most thought they should have lost and didn’t cover as well. They also let Boise St. put up 34 points on their defense, and they also struggled with a good defensive FCS team. The Spartans aren’t going into this game blindly as their coach Jonathan Smith, former Beavers coach, knows all about Oregon and how to play them, and has seen them many times in the old Pac 12. Oregon is 1-3 against the spread this season and they are 0-2 against the spread after a 2 game road trip. This is a conference game and the Spartans are good enough to hang around in this game. This might be too many points even in a short week. This will be one of the better defensive teams that the Ducks have seen so far, other than Idaho. The Spartans are 3-1 against the spread as a road underdog of 21.5 to 28 points and they are 4-1 against the spread this season.

Best bet: take the points with Michigan State.
