Virginia Tech returned so much production this season and there was a lot of excitement for this team but they’ve played poorly up to now and have let some weaker programs beat them. Drones has not looked good and it seems like he is playing with a disconnect. He’s only completing 52% of his throws and there are many issues with the offensive line and with the offense in general. Issues with timing and execution have plagued this team. They will have to throw the ball on Miami if they want a chance in this game, but they will face a stout Hurricane’s defense. Miami has looked like a complete team, blowing out their competition by double digits and they haven’t had to rely on their run game yet as they haven’t had to. Cam Ward has been excellent for Miami, completing 72% of his throws for 1,439 yards, 14 TDs and 2 INT. The team averages 51 points per game, 9.2 yards per play and they are solid on both sides of the ball. Virginia Tech is 3-6 against the spread as a road underdog and 1-6 straight up as a double digit underdog. Miami is 4-2-1 against the spread as a double digit favorite. These teams are night and day right now, and Miami has such a higher talent level too, that the only way to go right now is to roll with Miami.
