The Eagles are coming into this game with a 3-2 record this season, but they have not played well in their recent games. They have won 2 of their last 3 games, but they struggled to beat the Saints 4 weeks ago 15-12 and then followed that up with a 33-16 blowout loss to the Buccaneers. They went into their bye week after that loss, but they came out last week and struggled to beat an awful Browns team 20-16 in a close game at home. They struggled to run the ball in that game which really disrupted their gameplan and this will be a similar game where they struggle to run the ball. They are going up against a Giants team that is 2-4 this season and they have been stopping the run well all season. Teams have not been able to run the ball well against this good Giants run defense as they have not been allowing many yards on the ground. Their last 2 games they allowed more rushing yards, but in both of those games they gave up more rushing yards to the opposing quarterback than their running back. That was against Geno Smith and Joe Burrow who both do not run the ball themselves often, but that will certainly be in this week's gameplan with Jalen Hurts on the other side. The Giants will be prepared for this Eagles run game and they are going to get up for this game at home considering Saquon Barkley is the lead running back on the other side. The Giants have also been running the ball very well themselves and that is an area they can attack on this Eagles defense. The Eagles have struggled to stop the run this season and they have struggled against running back pairs like the Giants will be running here with Tracy Jr and now Singletary returning as well. The Giants have been great on defense all season and they just held the number 4 offense in the league to just 17 points in their last game. They will be able to slow down this Eagles offense and also move the ball well against their defense. The Giants need to win this game as 2-5 gives them a very steep climb but 3-4 puts them right in the mix in what could be a very close division down the stretch. The Giants will cover the spread in this game.
